Our Practice Philosophy

Well Care

We follow the well child care guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics. We believe that frequent well visits, including assessments of growth and development, physical exam and immunizations, are essential to quality care. We follow the immunization schedule established by the AAP and feel strongly that it is important to protect children from serious but preventable infectious diseases. Well visits can be scheduled up to 3 months in advance with the physician of your choice.

Sick Care

We reserve many appointment slots every day for sick visits. We ask that you make your sick appointments for the same day you call. This reduces no shows and leaves the maximum number of appointments open for children who need to be seen urgently. We also request that you see whichever physician is available at your office location. This allows the doctor to have access to your child’s full medical record and helps minimize wait time for your child and all our patients.

Phone Care

A physician is available by phone to our patients 24 hours a day, 7 days a week including holidays. We are here to help you with any emergencies that arise after office hours that cannot wait until the office opens. All calls go directly to the doctor on call, so we ask that as a courtesy to our physicians, you save any non-emergent calls and prescription refills for office hours.

It is almost never possible to make a diagnosis with certainty over the phone. For that reason, we do not call in antibiotics, steroids or other medications for children who have not been seen in the office. These medications have serious side effects, and any child who is ill enough to require a prescription, should be seen by a physician.
